Jon A. Cutting, M.D.

 

Jon grew up in central California and graduated from Loma Linda University Medical School in 1967. The next five years were spent serving in the United States Army. Jon completed his residency program in Portland, Oregon and then moved to Coeur d’Alene where he has been ever since.

 

Jon and his wife Edie have 7 children and 5 grandchildren (so far). Family and friends occupy a lot of their time and attention….along with some golf. Their favorite charity is an orphanage in Harare, the capital city of Zimbabwe.

 

Jon enjoys the privilege of providing obstetrical and gynecological care to the communities of North Idaho. He very much appreciates the confidence extended to him by his patients.

Brett Penney, M.D.

 

After 8 years of post-graduate training for Obstetrics/Gynecology, Brett spent 5 years serving in the United States Air Force. In 2003, he and his family relocated to Idaho. Brett lives in Coeur d’Alene with his wife Lori and their 3 children. Brett and Lori enjoy the outdoors and are very busy with their children’s activities. Brett looks forward to a successful medical practice in this wonderful community.

Ken Helal, M.D.

 

Dr. Ken Helal graduated summa cum laude from The Ohio State University College of Medicine in 1993. Following this, his residency in obstetrics and gynecology was completed in 1997 at Wilford Hall U.S. Air Force Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas.

 

Dr. Helal served as clinic chief of the Women’s Health Center at Offutt Air Force Base before entering private practice in 2001. He served as the obstetrics and gynecology department chairman at Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie, Indiana before relocating to Coeur d’Alene in December 2007.

 

Dr. Helal and his wife, Shelly, have two daughters, Samantha and Riley. In his spare time he enjoys playing tennis, gardening, and bird watching.

 

Larry Penney, M.D.

 

LL Penney MD joined our practice following 30 yrs of academic medicine practice and the last 12 year in private years confined principally to infertility and high risk obstetrics. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and also a diplomate of the Subspecialty Board of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility. He finished his subspecialty training at the University of Colorado. He is a member of the Society of Reproductive Surgeons as well as the Society of Reproductive Endocrinologists. He has considerable experience in microsurgery, operative laparoscopy, and hysteroscopy especially as they relate to issues of infertility. He had previously supervised a fully accredited in vitro fertilization program.

Stephanie J. Harrison, C.N.M., F.N.P., M.S.N.

 

Stephanie received a Bachelor of Arts in Biology/premed from Albion College in Albion, Michigan. She went on to complete a degree in nursing and a Master of Science in Nursing from Gonzaga University where she became a Family Nurse Practitioner. She became a Certified Nurse Midwife after completing a Post-Master’s study in Nurse Midwifery at the University of Washington.

 

She lives in Coeur d’Alene with her husband and two children.

Susan Dummer, F.N.P.

 

My name is Susie Dummer. I have worked as a nurse practitioner in Dr. Cutting’s office for more than 15 years. Prior to that, I worked as a family nurse practitioner for Kaiser Permanent, a public health nurse in Gillette, Wyoming and a public health nurse on the Windriver Indian Reservation in Wyoming.

 

I am married, my husband is a local pediatrician and we have lived in the Coeur d’Alene area since 1988. We have two grown sons. In my spare time, I like to read, walk, cross country ski, work-out, and do needlework.

Katie Christensen, N.P.

 

Katie has been here at Healthcare for Women since 2001. Prior to that, she worked at Valley Hospital in the Newborn Nursery, Kapiolani Hospital for Women and Children in the NICU/PICU, and Loma Linda University Medical Center in the Pediatric Cardiac ICU. She graduated from Loma Linda University – BSRN and University of Hawaii – Family Nurse Practitioner.

 

She enjoys outdoor activities with her husband including water skiing, hiking, camping, and snow skiing. Hobbies include reading, cooking, and scrap booking but her favorite thing to do is spend time with her children.

Kate Forsman, N.P.

 

Kate was born and raised in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. She received her Bachelor of Science degree from Lewis-Clark State College and her Master of Science degree in the Family Nurse Practitioner program from Idaho State University.  Kate, her husband, and her young son enjoy spending time outdoors and traveling.

Katie Kelso, Medical Counselor/ Hormone Replacement

 

Katie graduated from the University of Idaho Masters of Counseling program in 1991 and is a licensed clinical professional counselor. With her bachelor's degree in education, Katie has served as an educator and counselor with Health Care for Women specializing in the areas of women's counseling issues and hormonal replacement.  Katie is the proud mother of three and grandmother of two who greatly enjoys being on Lake Coeur d'Alene.
